I knew the Clippers would come to play in Game 5, but I didn’t see the score going higher than Alex Caruso at a Texas Bar-be-cue… Paul George is slowly shutting his critics up with incredible performances when they matter. And this Clippers team is no stranger to having their backs against the wall. If they come back and take this series, which I truly believe they can, it will be the first time a team has won three series after going 0-2 in each one. That is absurd. And they could do this without Kawhi Leonard.

In the Hawks-Bucks game last night, everybody threw money at the Bucks walking away with it after the news that Trae Young was out. Who would step up? Charles Barkley suggested Jeff Teague, who doesn’t even PLAY for the Hawks anymore.

Nate McMillan was the smartest man in the building when he started Lou Williams, who could have been a starter in the league for 15 seasons if he wasn’t relegated to being the best 6th man on the floor for his entire career. Lou answered the call. So did the paramedics, however, when Giannis hyper-extended his knee and went down. Losing your best player can hurt your team a little, right?

Injuries, once again. Sigh.

So, who takes Game 6 tonight at Staples Center?

Phoenix Suns @ Los Angeles Clippers: Los Angeles Clippers +1 (-105)

Point Total: Under 214.5 (-105)

The Suns did what a lot of teams do these days when leading a series 3-1. They just “showed up” and expected the game to come to them. Instead, Paul George came at them and shut down the desert with 41 points in Game 5. The momentum seems to have switched again back to LA facing yet another elimination game.

It pains me to hear announcers write off the Clippers – especially because they were two Paul George free throws away from being the team with 3 wins. When Richard Jefferson declared after Game 4 that “The Suns are gonna take it all,” I immediately knew this game was gonna end poorly for PHX. And I feel the same way tonight. The Clippers will win this game in the Staples Center and force a Game 7 in Phoenix. Take the Clips, expect a Game 7, and watch Patrick Beverley become the most hated man in Arizona since Governor Evan Meacham. (Look him up. He ruined Arizona in the ‘80s.)

Points-wise, I think this game gets a little more defensive than Game 5. I’m going to say that the Los Angeles Clippers may have some trouble stopping the Phoenix Suns’ offensive outbursts at times but will ultimately hold them below 110 points. Take the UNDER.

In the Prop Bet world, I think I only wanna bet on a couple of players here, as the inconsistency has been the only consistency these playoffs.

I’ll take Paul George (-125) and Devin Booker to each get 30+ points (+115).

Big-time players step up in big-time games.

See you for Game 7…
